FLUFF ONE
Avery had been many things in his life. Lover fighter father. He'd never been a playground, though, and he was trying to explain this, but the girls were having none of it. Even Reece clung to his shirtfront, silently refusing to get off. Avery gave up and sat down. "I'm not a playground," he said, defeated. Elle just giggled.
"Little Rue," Jake called, chasing the stray around the house. "Hey! Where are you going?" He followed her to a lump of sleeping Avery on the couch, the other two climbing over his back and face. "C'mon now, Avery is not a playground, guys," Jake told them, and was instantly adopted instead.
Jack laughed when Jake told him. "They aren't monsters, babe, they're only a little hyperactive. How bad can it be?" Jake wished him luck, and as they walked into the living room, Jack learned why. From the floor. "Monsters!" he shouted playfully, as the children swarmed over his stomach for tickles.
FLUFF TWO
Jack sighed in his sleep and rolled over. Jake watched him and brushed hair away from his face when it fell into Jack's eyes. Jake kissed his face, and his mouth, and then continued to watch.
Avery watched Jake.
"Jake," Avery whispered, and Jake looked up almost guiltily. "Puppy? Avery giggled.
"You called me puppy," he explained, and climbed onto Jake's chest, to hug him and give him the early-morning kisses that every boyfriend deserves. "Jack calls me puppy."
"Because you are a puppy," Jake told him, stroking his nose. "And nothing changes that!"
Silence.
"You're Jakey, then," Avery said, uncurling a little in his Jakey's arms. "Mine."
"Yours," Jake confirmed, kissing his fingers. "Always yours."
Avery reached over him to push the stubborn lock of hair back out of Jack's eyes.
