Dance Diary in July
July 3, 2001
Tomorrow is the 4th of July! I'm so excited! Mom is gonna take us all to her Da's house. GranDa is from Ireland (like Momma) and for some reason, he puts on the BEST 4th of July parties! I think he likes the 4th of July.
Well, Tracy was here today! I was suprised! Keelin says that she has four new kids scheduled to come in two weeks or so.
Great news about the June Feis!
Kelly Ann from our school placed SECOND at the June Feis! Go Kelly Ann! We now have a Novice student at our school! She's not in my class though.
I can't wait to go to the July Feis!!! It's really soon! In a week or so! I'm so excited! My first feis! YAY!
Well, we worked on the reel today. That's it. Boring.

We started on the light jig today! Yay! I'm so happy! Oh and guess what else! I went to the July Feis yesterday! I'll tell you my placings once I found out. It was really fun! I can't wait to go to another one!
Well, the light jig lead 'round is sorta tricky because I loose my balance easily. You see, we go really slow (which is good), but since we do that, I can't stay balanced. I think I'm the only one with that problem. Ciara is so good at the lead 'round. She is 13. She's good at EVERYTHING!!! I think being older has some advantages. Good and bad. But you CAN dance better!

Hello! We worked a lot on the reel today. We didn't work on the light jig though.

Well, we worked on the light jig today, then we started on the single jig! It's really weird. I'm not sure I like it very much. Tracy quit. She's not in my class anymore and Keelin says that she isn't in any of hers, so that must mean that she quit. No suprise. Not to be mean or anything, but she was really bad and she cried almost every lesson! That's right, cried! One time, she couldn't get in a full circle in 8 hop23s and she just sat down and cried. Keelin put her into the hall to get a drink and rest. Then, last lesson, she wasn't as fast as the rest of the class and she just teared up, but she didn't stop hopping. She was a little wobbly though. I just feel really bad for her. If she would practice harder and not come late to class she may have made it. She was a slacker, what more can one say?

Well, the results of the feis are going to be posted tomorrow. I don't know if I did well or not. I did sorta mess up once. I'm really excited to find out though. If I didn't move up, I don't mind. It was my first feis after all.
In class we worked a lot on the reel and on the light jig. We are supposed to start hardshoe in December! I can't wait! It may be a long time, but I can wait. Afterall, I've been waiting nine years to start dancing!
